FISHERMAN ON INLE LAKE

FISHERMAN ON INLE LAKE

Artist: Steve McCurry

Item #: 476.14.PH

In Collection: Distinguished Artist Collection

Fisherman on Inle Lake is a depiction of the universal aspects of the working man. The image speaks to the point that fishing and being a fisherman, although done in several different styles, whether off a bridge, in a boat or on stilts, is fundamentally the same for all mankind.
One of the most iconic figures in contemporary photography for over the past thirty years, Steve McCurry has created unforgettable images in six continents and numerous countries. Known for his National Geographic image the Afghan Girl, McCurry’s body of work spans conflict, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions and contemporary cultures alike – yet always retains the human element that makes his images so powerful.
